UK Exchange: Turin Polytechnic

Program Overview

Politecnico di Torino (PdT) is known both in Italy and abroad as a leading institution to study engineering and architecture. Tradition combines with innovation to make its campus a stimulating environment offering a wealth of opportunities.
The university has around 32,000 students, with 50% from outside the region and about 15% who are foreign - the highest percentage in Italy. Their degrees are internationally recognised and students can choose to follow degree courses taught in English. 

UK exchange students can take courses in Automotive Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Telecommunication Engineering, as these courses are taught in English.

Eligibility
This program is open to undergraduate and graduate students who major in engineering.
Students must possess a valid passport at the time of application to this program.

Academic Credit

Students will earn transfer credit from the Exchange University. For all successfully completed courses, the credit hours, course title and course equivalency will be indicated on the UK transcript. Students must complete the coursework during this program according to the established guidelines by the Exchange University. The grades earned will be important to progression in future academic endeavors, including graduate or professional school; however the grades earned will NOT be indicated on the UK transcript.   • PRIOR to participating on this program, students must complete an Academic Approval Form (AAF). The AAF indicates how the course will be used, or course equivalency, once they are transferred back to UK. Instructions on how to complete the AAF are included in application materials.
  • Upon completion of the term abroad, the transcript should be sent to the UK Education Abroad office. Once received, Education Abroad staff will facilitate the transfer of credits to UK.
  • All students will be enrolled in EAP 599: Study Abroad (1 credit hour) at UK during their term abroad.



 

Housing & Meals

Students will be accommodated in single rooms provided by the Collegio Universitario di Torino. Confirmation of housing will take place after the student has been officially admitted by PdT.

VERY IMPORTANT
Collegio Universitario di Torino requires UK to make payment for the student's accommodation. Therefore the cost the accommodation will be charged to the student's UK student account at the start of the UK spring semester.
A student who withdraws from the exchange after January 15 but before the start of the exchange semester at Polytechnic di Torino will be responsible for a minimum of two months rent on their accommodation in Turin.

Students are responsible for all meals during the duration of the term abroad.
