Program Description:

UK Exchange: University of Valladolid

Valladolid, Spain

Program Overview

This exchange program offers graduate students in the University of Kentucky's College of Arts and Sciences the opportunity to live and learn in Valladolid, Spain - a city of exceptionally rich history. Students will attend classes at the University of Valladolid, one of the oldest institutions of higher education in Spain, dating as far back as the 13th century. 

Highlights

  • Some students may have the opportunity to serve as a TA in courses while studying at the university
  • Practice and develop your Spanish skills living and learning alongside local students
  • Easy access to Madrid, Portugal and many other points of interest in southern Europe

Eligibility
This program is open to graduate students in UK's Department of Hispanic Studies.
Students must possess a valid passport at the time of application to this program.

Academic Credit

Students will earn transfer credit from the Exchange University. For all successfully completed courses, the credit hours, course title and course equivalency will be indicated on the UK transcript. Students must complete the coursework during this program according to the established guidelines by the Exchange University. The grades earned will be important to progression in future academic endeavors, including graduate or professional school; however the grades earned will NOT be indicated on the UK transcript.   • PRIOR to participating on this program, students must complete an Academic Approval Form (AAF). The AAF indicates how the course will be used, or course equivalency, once they are transferred back to UK. Instructions on how to complete the AAF are included in application materials.
  • Upon completion of the term abroad, the transcript should be sent to the UK Education Abroad office. Once received, Education Abroad staff will facilitate the transfer of credits to UK.
  • All students will be enrolled in EAP 599: Study Abroad (1 credit hour) at UK during their term abroad.




 

Housing & Meals

Students are required to secure their own housing for the term abroad. Students are also responsible for all meals during the duration of the term abroad.
