Program Description:

UK Exchange: University of Neuchatel

Neuchatel, Switzerland

Program Overview

With 20% of its students coming from abroad, the University of Neuchatel (UniNe) is one of the most international universities in Switzerland. Students benefit from small class size, group work, seminars, and an optional free seven-day language and culture orientation immersion program with organized excursions before the start of each semester.

Generally, the language of instruction is French, therefore students wishing to participate in this exchange should be conversational in French at the European B2 Portfolio level.  However, Gatton students with senior standing (90 UK credits), can study finance and economics in English.  These students can also study French language at UniNe's Institute of French Language and Culture.

Neuchatel is a friendly and small-sized city steeped in history, hosting a total student population of about 4,000. As a result, you'll find a young and cosmopolitan atmosphere, with plenty of things to see and do. Beautiful historic architecture, numerous coffee shops and restaurants, and a vibrant bar and club scene. And, although Switzerland is generally quite an expensive country, Neuchatel is much more affordable.

Although Gatton students can go to UniNe in the fall and/or spring terms, students attending in the Fall must inform UniNe that they will need to complete their final exams before the Christmas break, as UniNe students typically take these in January.

This program is open to undergraduate and graduate students majoring in Gatton College of Business & Economics..
