This also includes first-generation students, students that have not traveled abroad, those from Appalachian or other communities, and more.

Notification of scholarship decision will be by email. The award is deducted from the ISA program fee. It is not awarded in form of cash or check and will not be placed on your student account.

Recipients will be required to meet with an Education Abroad Advisor to discuss the terms of the award and program selection process. The award may be revoked if the student withdraws from the program, does not participate in the program or the program is canceled.  The award may be used for a different ISA program as long as study occurs within two calendar years of the original award date.  Awards are non-renewable and non-transferrable.

During the semester immediately after returning from abroad, recipients of the UK Education Abroad Diversity Scholarship's ISA voucher are expected to contact the ISA Kentucky Office and participate in at least one approved outreach activity in which the student shares his/her experience with potential future education abroad participants. While the required outreach activity may take many forms, each must be approved by ISA Kentucky Office.
Additionally, each recipient shall agree to submit a 1-page statement about the experience abroad to UK Education Abroad, including how it has affected the student personally, professionally, and academically, and how the scholarship supported the recipient’s endeavors. Once submitted the statement becomes the property of UK Education Abroad and excerpts may be used in any/all UK Education Abroad electronic and print publications.
