INFORMATION RELATED TO PROGRAM EXPENSES
PROGRAM FEE: All billable costs associated with the program on-site in Thailand (if any) should be paid directly by the participants to the host - The Huai Hong Khrai Royal Development Center. For more information about the cost of the program, please contact the Program Director, Mike Reed (email@example.com).
Note: If withdrawal is required for any reason, it is the responsibility of the participants to communicate in writing their intent to withdraw to the UK Education Abroad office in order to be considered 'withdrawn' from this program by a particular date. Participants who withdraw from this program for any reason will be held financially liable for the amount described in the Program Fee Cancellation Policy above. This obligation is absolutely without exception, and applies no matter what good cause or circumstance arises.
APPLICATION FEE: All UK participants on this program will be assessed a non-refundable $50 UK Education Abroad Application Fee. This fee will be charged to the participant’s UK student billing account at the end of the month in which the application was created. Applications submitted in error must be withdrawn (by the participant) before the end of the month in which the application was created in order to avoid the application fee. Non-credit participants (if any) will be assessed the Application Fee via invoice.
Cancellation Policy: This fee is non-refundable.
ADMINISTRATIVE FEE: All UK participants on this program will be assessed a $100 UK Education Abroad Administrative Fee. This fee will be charged to the participant’s UK student billing account during the term in which the program occurs (i.e., Summer I, Summer II, etc). Non-credit participants (if any) will be assessed the Administrative Fee via invoice.
Cancellation Policy: This fee is non-refundable for participants who withdraw from the program abroad after the last day to withdraw from a UK course during the academic term (UK Academic Calendar). Withdrawals prior to this date will receive a full refund of the Administrative Fee.
EAP 599: STUDY ABROAD COURSE: All participants on this program will be enrolled in EAP 599: Study Abroad by the University of Kentucky Education Abroad office. This pass/fail course keeps a student classified as full-time and thus allows a student to utilize federal financial aid and most institutional aid for his/her Education Abroad program of choice. Additionally, this course serves to provide each participant with the necessary information, preparation and support to successfully navigate the Education Abroad process. This course charges one credit hour of tuition at the student's normal rate (in-state/resident or out-of-state/non-resident), and waives all other tuition charges for any UK Sponsored courses/credits the student has enrolled in within the same term that their Education Abroad program occurs. The EAP 599 tuition will be charged to the participant’s UK Student Billing Account during the term in which the program occurs (i.e., Summer I, Summer II, etc). While this course is required for undergraduate participants, graduate and professional participants will not be required to complete EAP 599 coursework. Graduate students may elect not to be enrolled in EAP 599 altogether, but they must contact the UK Education Abroad office to decline their enrollment. Note: graduate students who opt out of EAP 599 altogether will not receive the tuition waiver described above.
Cancellation Policy: Participants who withdraw from the program abroad prior to the first day of the UK academic term (UK Academic Calendar) will not be responsible for the tuition associated with EAP 599. Participants who withdraw from the program abroad on or after the first day of the UK academic term will be responsible for a portion of the EAP 599 tuition in accordance with the Tuition and Fee Liability policy as established by the University of Kentucky.
TRAVEL MEDICAL + EVACUATION INSURANCE: All participants on this program will receive travel medical and evacuation insurance coverage. The cost of this insurance will be billed to each student's UK Student Billing Account.
PASSPORT & VISA: Participants must have a passport valid for at least 6 months after the expected date of return to the U.S. The Wildcat Passport Acceptance Facility, in the UK Student Center, accepts U.S. Passport applications. For more information about U.S. Passport applications please visit the U.S. Department of State website. It is the responsibility of all participants to determine if a visa is needed for entry into the destination country. Non-U.S passport holders must pay special attention to the regulations and visa requirements for both the education abroad destination country as well as the U.S. visa requirements in order to return to the U.S.
